HbA1c to Average Glucose Converter

Translate your HbA1c percentage into estimated average blood glucose.

Your HbA1c reflects your average blood glucose over the past 2–3 months. This converts that percentage into an estimated average glucose you can picture in everyday mg/dL.

Enter your values above to see your result.

Formula

eAG (mg/dL) = (28.7 × HbA1c%) − 46.7

How it is calculated

Glucose slowly attaches to hemoglobin. HbA1c measures that buildup, giving a 2–3 month average of your blood sugar.

Remember: HbA1c is an average. It can hide large swings — high spikes and low dips can produce a "normal-looking" number.

Frequently asked questions
